Warren Expansion »

This project featured the melding of a large modern farm style home with an existing classic New England cape in the picturesque Mad River Valley. The addition itself is a juxtaposition in materials and methods with a focal point being a sleek large outdoor precast and board form look fireplace nestled against a traditional white clapboard exterior.

Some interior features are timber framed roof trusses; reclaimed barn ceiling beams and a granite faced fireplace. The open floor plan is further accentuated by an exposed side staircase and balcony with slender steel balustrade.

The lower level contains a fitness space; laundry; mechanical & storage rooms as well as a built-in custom sauna. Adjacent to the open main level living space containing a kitchen, dining, and living room is the Master suite which is quietly tucked away. Access and connection to the outdoors is afforded at all corners by covered porches. The upper floor contains guest accommodations including a full suite; another guest room as well as a bunk room.

Landscape features include a bluestone patio; granite stone walls and an expansive pond. All overlooking the ski slopes to the west.
